MailGate Support Issues

Q. How can I add a disclaimer/footer to my e-mails?
A. This can be achieved with the Mail Manager Extension:

First of all, make sure that the Mail Manager Extension is enabled:

Right-click on the Mail Manager icon, and if the "Enabled" option does not have a check mark beside it, click on it to enable it. If it has a check mark beside it then leave it as it is.

Secondly, make sure that the Extension does not have an expired or invalid licence:

Double-click on the Mail Manager icon, select the 'About' tab, and make sure that it does not say 'Invalid or expired licence'.

If everything seems to indicate that Mail Manager is active, do the following:
  1. Double-click on the Mail Manager icon, and click the ADD button to add a new rule.
  2. Enter a name into the 'Name' field (e.g. 'Disclaimer').
  3. In the 'Recipient' field type '*' (without quotes).
  4. Set the 'Destination' drop-down menu to 'external'. (so that only outgoing mail has a disclaimer)
  5. Set the 'Action 1' drop-down menu to 'Add header/footer', and click on the 'Settings' button.
  6. Add text for both 'HTML' and 'plain' options in the 'Footer inserts' section.
Note: Both HTML and plain text should be added, so that e-mail clients displaying either HTMl or plaint text display the disclaimer.
